When Patanjali wrote the yoga sutras, he spoke about using herbs to enhance the practice, in order to find deeper connection of mind, body, and soul.
While cannabis is an incredible herb, there are countless others that offer great medicinal effects, and can be utilized intentionally in so many healthful ways.
Our new class offering embodies all aspects of healing by introducing customized herbal blends through inhalation and aromatherapy, as we flow through a restorative yin-style yoga practice. Yin yoga is considered to be "the other half" of the yoga practice, as it offers deeper tissue stretching through longer holds in restorative postures.
For this flow, students will be asked their individual intention upon arriving to class. An Intention can derive from any part of your life, and can be anything from "I want to relax" to "I need anxiety relief" to "I need to check in with myself." It can simply be a word ("happiness"), or a mantra ("I am enough"). Students will receive a customized herbal blend, based on their intention.
Class begins in savasana with a body-scan meditation, and instructors provide gentle massage as students flow through 6-8 yin postures. Herbal enhancements are offered through vaping and aroma therapy. We end with extended surrender stretching and a guided meditation.
Props such as eye pillows, blocks, and blankets are also used during class to offer students a fully supported self-care experience.Vaping is always optional.
After class offerings will include a detox shot, herbal tea, and a mini oil blend to go!
